Getting Started with VidMost

Meet VidMost, the personal browser with AdBlock, privacy protection, picture-in-picture, and a built-in Link Library. Here's how to set it up in minutes.

Welcome to VidMost

VidMost is a personal browser with the essentials built in — AdBlock, privacy protection, picture-in-picture, a Link Library for the pages you bookmark, and a one-keystroke Side Bar. No extensions to hunt down. No setup walls to climb. Open it and the protections are already on.

This guide walks you through installation and a quick tour of what each feature does for you.

Install in Three Steps

  1. Download the installer from vidmost.com
  2. Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts
  3. Launch VidMost — AdBlock and privacy protection are active the moment it opens

VidMost runs on Windows 10/11 and macOS 14+.

Browse Normally — Protections Run by Default

VidMost is built on Chromium, so every site you already use just works. The difference is what’s not there:

  • Intrusive ads, banners, and pop-ups are blocked across every site
  • Third-party trackers and telemetry are stopped by default
  • Your browsing history stays on your device — never used for ad targeting or profiling

There is no per-site setup. Open a tab, browse, and the protections run silently in the background.

Open the Side Bar — Your Toolbox in One Keystroke

The Side Bar is a one-keystroke drawer on the right edge of the browser. It hosts the VidMost-specific tools — without crowding your tabs or pages.

Inside the Side Bar you’ll find:

  • Reading Mode — strip clutter for a focused, distraction-free read
  • Link Library — bookmark pages with one click, then tag, group, and search
  • Reading List — queue pages for later, clears as you go

Tap the keystroke once and the toolbox is there. Tap again and it’s gone.

Pin a Video with PIP

Picture-in-picture lets you pop any web video out into a floating mini-player that stays on top of every app — even after you close the source tab.

  1. Start a video in any tab
  2. Click the PIP button to detach it
  3. Resize, snap to a corner, or fullscreen anytime

The free tier gives you one active PIP window; Pro unlocks unlimited windows and advanced controls.

The Link Library is a richer take on bookmarks — for the pages you actually want to come back to.

  • One-click save: every page captured with title, source, and favicon
  • Tag and group across everything you’ve kept
  • Search across your whole library in one place
  • Stores the URL and metadata only — no page contents

Your saved links live locally on your device. Keep them, export them, or delete them on your own terms.

A Typical Day with VidMost

  1. Browse normally. AdBlock and privacy are already on.
  2. Open the Side Bar. Reach for Reading Mode, the Link Library, or your Reading List whenever you need them.
  3. Save what’s worth coming back to. One click drops a link into your Library — searchable, organized, yours.

That’s the full loop. No extensions to install, no settings page to study.

What’s Next

  • Try the keystroke for the Side Bar and find the shortcut that fits your hand
  • Save your first link to the Library and tag it
  • Pin a tutorial video with PIP and follow it while you work in another app

Welcome aboard.
